BRIEF OF SUBMITTED SOLUTION

According to the Mental Health Policy and Strategic Plan, statistics revealed that by 2025 mental illness and substance use disorders will be the number one cause of morbidity in the world including Liberia. Liberia has a population of about five million, and more than half of the population is young people. Studies have shown that mental health problems and substance use disorders including addiction affects young people and robs them of their promising future and increase violence in schools, communities and the state; it has resounding effects on the individual, the families, communities, and the nation at large from physical, psychological impacts to employment and economic vulnerabilities.

Up to 75%of all mental disorders start in youth while mental disorders are the highest cause of long-term disability and dependency. Studies have shown that drug addiction, and neuropsychiatric condition is widespread in Liberia. We believe that our solution would make an impact.
