The Nigerian Youth Task Team Releases a Policy Brief on Addressing the COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Among the Youths in Nigeria, for Policymakers and Stakeholders’ Attention.

The Nigerian Youth Task Team, under the Africa Youth Partnership to Advocate an Equitable Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic has been unflinching in their quest to decrease vaccine hesitancy in Nigeria. In direct contrast with the government’s efforts to increase vaccine uptake and coverage in the bid to ameliorate the effects of the pandemic, the unwillingness of the youths to partake of it has been a major hindrance. This has considerably affected the health and wellbeing of the people.

The Nigerian Youth Task Team therefore deems it a growing health menace that needs to be nipped in the bud. In this vein, the team has drafted a Policy Brief, delving into the issue and giving policy recommendations to facilitate increased vaccination acceptance and enhance vaccine confidence among the citizens of Nigeria. This Policy Brief is to be presented to policymakers and stakeholders, to ensure it is given fair and favorable consideration in policymaking spaces.

The ravages of the COVID-19 Pandemic has affected us all in one way or the other and is therefore a concern for us all. Stay informed.
