SIERRA LEONE

Sorie Sankoh is the founder of the Community Advocacy for Relief and Development Organisation (CARDO), a local NGO in Sierra Leone that works with communities to promote children and youths’ issues through education, supports, advocacy, and other child welfare needs.

His passion for advocating for rural out-of-school children to pursue their education has served as the greatest motivation for him to start his personal NGO. Sorie holds a BSc. Honors Degree in Information Technology from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) University of Sierra Leone. He has gone through sound professional development training ranging from Public Policy and Management, Community Action Plan, and Project Management.

Sorie is a philanthropist whose status as a young activist has positioned him as an inspiration to other youths in his local community and nationwide. He has a strong background in volunteerism and a wealth of experience as an entrepreneur. He is of the firm believer that local solutions can cause global impact and that technology and youth power have a lot to play in the development of the new face of Africa.

Sorie was selected as one of the top 50 entrepreneurs by the Under 30s CEO’s Organization and among the top 10 young CEOs in Sierra Leone by Seed Stars. He was also selected among the top 10 Orange Social Venture Prizes.
