NIGERIA

BRIEF OF SUBMITTED SOLUTION

Nigeria, Africa’s most populous and the 7th most populous country in the world has been in the red zone battling terror and insurgency for over a decade now.

Although a vast majority of the country’s land is arable, only a small percentage is cultivated for commercial food production which is centralized in the country’s northern region.

As we know, grains such as rice and wheat form the staple food in many cultures across different parts of the world. Wheat especially is an all-important grain as it is processed into flour from which many other food items like bread and pasta are made.

In developing countries like Nigeria where poverty is prevalent, bread is the food for the common man. Sadly, however, this food is getting out of reach as grain scarcity occasioned by the Russia-Ukraine war and local production which has been hampered by insecurity and terrorism hit a record high.
