Mohamed Barrie is a final-year student at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, pursuing a BSc. in Social Work. He served as the Publicity Secretary of the Social Work Society and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Students’ Union Government.

Mohamed Barrie is a student leader and MUN diplomat whose leadership acumen cannot be overemphasized. Mohamed Barrie is a renowned youth and child advocate in Sierra Leone with six years of experience in the field of advocacy and youth activism.

Between 2016 – 2018, Mohamed served as the National Vice President and Interim National President of the Children’s Forum Network, a child-led advocacy organization established by the Ministry of Gender and Children’s Affairs.

He was elected as the young people’s representative at the National Commission for Children in Sierra Leone. Mohamed Barrie has been working with different organizations over the years to amplify the voices of young people at national and international forums. In 2018, he became the youth coordinator of the Asmaa James Foundation and Girls+, launched an initiative in seven districts across Sierra Leone to end all forms of violence against women and girls known as the Black Tuesday Movement.

Mohamed Barrie is the Executive Director of Youth Leadership & Advocacy, his international youth representation includes the People’s Republic of China, Kenya, Tanzania, Liberia, and Guinea. Barrie is known for his ability to mobilize and coordinate grassroots programs, influence policy formulation, and implement programs geared toward enhancing youth participation in national development.
