THE GAMBIA

Lamin Darboe

I am Lamin L. Darboe. I was born in The Gambia and raised in a small village called Dumbuto in the Lower River Region. It is where I started my schooling from nursery to primary.

After completing my primary school in 2010 in Dumbuto I proceeded to Nioro Jattaba and Sankandi Upper Basic School. I completed my Upper Basic in the year 2013. I further proceeded to Kwinella Senior Secondary School where I graduated in 2018. After high school, I started following the subcontractors.

During that period I opened a YouTube channel where I was enlightening people about the danger of irregular migration and one of my friends gave me the idea of establishing an organization. From there I did my research, put young people together, and named and registered our organization with Attorney General Chamber in 2020.

On 17th December 2021, we changed the name from Network Against Illegal Migration to Network Against Irregular Migration. At the moment working on the organization, I applied to one of the institutions where I want to study journalism.
