THE GAMBIA

Kadijah Bokum is a Child, Social justice advocate, and a journalist currently working with the state broadcaster media Gambia Radio and Television Service (GRTS) and a Yali fellow ( Young African Leaders Initiative) She spent most of her teenage age combining academics with extracurricular activities and advocacy focusing mostly on girls, children, and social issues.

She has over five years of experience in Media and is an award-winning debater from the vice championship debate 2014 at the University of the Gambia. Kadijah has over the years been opportune to discuss national issues on higher platforms regarding youths. She has a passion for excellent community service delivery; which has been her driving force to focus on the media which is a powerful tool to be heard and change the narratives of the society.

Due to her love for children and women advocating for the less privileged she recently formed a foundation called KB foundation caring for children,( Kadijah Bokum)a nonprofit organization that drives for the health and education of less privileged children in the rural Gambia where she promotes quality education, providing reading materials to children for quality education.

She has impacted the lives of over 100 children in the rural Gambia, who are now doing great in various extracurricular activities such as advocacy for education in the rural Gambia
