THE GAMBIA

Fatoumata Gassama is a graduate of the University of The Gambia with a BSc in Political Science (Magna Cum Laude). She is a social researcher with more than three years of experience in fieldwork both as a field enumerator and supervisor in research work. In addition, she has experience in project implementation, early warning, and peacebuilding.

An experienced social services volunteer, in sales and marketing. Has good interpersonal skills, leadership, and teamwork skills, and fast learner. Fatoumata is currently working at the Center for Research and Policy Development as a Research Assistant, responsible for coordinating the Social Inclusion and Wellbeing projects.

She is also responsible for promoting the department of Social Inclusion and well-being’s main goal of enhancing the capacities of women, youth, and disadvantaged groups as well as increasing their political, economic, and social inclusion. This department covers social protection, empowerment, migration, public service delivery, and data production.

In addition, she is working for Sayara International on contract as one of their field researchers in the Gambia, responsible for conducting field research and writing reports of the field findings.
Fatoumata has worked as an Intern at West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP)- the Gambia and she was opportune to be trained as a trainer on Peacebuilding and conflict resolution. She is enthusiastic about issues around migration, social inclusion, and protection.
