Charles Makongo, a young active leader has worked for one year as a Facilitator in the Opportunities for Youth Employment phase II project supported by the SNV in Morogoro region. He trained more than 42 youth in entrepreneurship, proper record keeping, business development services, leadership, and basic financial management skills and facilitated the formation of 27 Youth Savings and Lending Associations.

Charles has worked with Youth Power Organization for more than one year as a Project Coordinator when he organized and conducted digital literacy training, coached and mentored 6 youth enterprises, and linked 23 youths with the private sector for volunteering and internship. It was during this time that he engaged key stakeholders (youth, donors, academicians, government, private companies, and non-governmental and civil society organizations) in the formation of Youth Power Organization’s policies related to financial management, human resources, procurement, and gender.

He also served as a Mid-term evaluation consultant for the RIPAT SUA project.

Currently, Charles is working in youth advocacy, policy influencing, project planning, implementation, and evaluation under the umbrella of Youth Power Organization.

 Youth holds the keys to their community problems and challenges.
