Bello Olakeu Abdussalam is an undergraduate medical student of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria-Nigeria and an aspiring global health and infectious diseases researcher. He is passionate about addressing global health, educational and environmental challenges through research and advocacy.

As an intellectually curious person, he is currently a Public Health Intern at the West Africa Institute of Public Health and an alumnus of the International Spring School in Global Health, Barcelona Institute for Global Health. Similarly, he is a fellow of the World Health Organization Fellowship on COVID-19 Recovery for Routine Immunization Program.

Olakeu is a student member of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, a student member of the International Society for Infectious Diseases, and an associate member of the British Infection Association.

He was a semi-finalist in the Clinicalkey Global Challenge, 2021 organized by Elsevier. Olakeu also led the team that won the first position in the World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week Innovative Campaign Competition, 2021. Also, he is also one of the top 100 outstanding students selected for the 18th edition of the South American Business Forum.

Olakeu enjoys researching, writing, and working with others to achieve set goals, accomplish missions or create new ideas for the betterment of the world.
