Aliyu Muhammad is a Youth Leader, Community Influencer and Mobilizer. He is a civil society activist who resides in Damaturu, Yobe State. He is a Fellow at LEAP Africa’s Youth Leadership Programme 2022/2023 cohort and also a member of the Grassroot Researchers Association where he serves as the Cluster Lead for the Democratic Governance Constituency Club.

Aliyu is also an SDG Coordinator at SDSN’s Climate Action Accelerator Programme. A programme aimed at developing a network of young talents that would pioneer transformative solutions to restore and protect our planet’s ecosystem.

Aliyu graduated in 2021 from Yobe State University Damaturu where he studied Political Science and administration. As someone who is passionate about growth and development, Aliyu has also campaigned for promoting the enrolment of school-age children in school where he created an awareness and sensitization campaign on ‘Out of school children’ through social and mass media in Yobe state.

Aliyu has under different platforms advocated for democratic and inclusive governance, peacebuilding and transitional justice in Northeastern Nigeria through social media and relevant stakeholder engagements. Aliyu is currently pursuing an effort alongside his cluster members to see the eventual domestication of National Action Plan on Youth Peace and Security (YPS) Act in Yobe State.
