Samson Darrah is a Doctor of Optometry Student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana. He is a research enthusiast, currently working as a Research Intern and Technical Advisor at Dr. Kwadwo Owusu Akuffo Research Lab in Kumasi.

Samson was a semi-finalist in the Harvard Crossroads Emerging Leaders Program ’21. He was the Editor-in-Chief for the Optometry Students Association of Ghana (OSAG) – KNUST Chapter. He is an alumnus of the African Future Leaders Fellowship and Savvy Fellowship Program. Currently, he is serving as the Vice President for Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (KNUST Chapter). In addition, he is serving as Global Youth Ambassador for TheirWorld and as the Graphic Designer and Social Media Manager for Ghana Optometric Association.

While pursuing academics, publishable research, fellowships, and clinical endeavors, Samson has however been consistently involved in community service. Samson is passionate about influencing lives through the provision of health services. He is the founder of iCare Network Ghana, a youth-led organization that brings together young professionals from across the globe to provide medical care to less privileged communities and also address their social needs. He has influenced over 400 lives through his organization.
