BRIEF OF SUBMITTED SOLUTION

According to the United Nations plastic pollution is the fifth highest contributor to climate change, and this problem happens to be a global problem. The waste management sector of my community is poor most of the waste collected is not recycled it is rather burned resulting in the emission of harmful gases to the atmosphere and worsening the climate change problem. My idea seeks to tackle the plastic pollution problem by using the power of education, incentives and recycling. In terms of education, we will educate our community members on the need to care for their environment. We will use cash and other incentives to encourage community members to reserve and collect plastic waste and sell it to us there providing a stream of income for them and actually caring for the environment.

Lastly, we will be recycling plastic waste into paving bricks, artwork and furniture. With that, we will be giving value to our waste and equally keep our environment clean while creating jobs for young people and the less privileged.
